Being Carried

My mother- and grandmother-in-law visited last week from Japan. Grandma had a stroke some time back and is unable to walk on her own. I had to carry her up the stairs to the bath, and carry her when putting her in the car. On the day before they left, as I was lifting her into the car, I had a thought: She is putting a lot of trust in me not to drop her here on the pavement. If I got a cramp or lost my balance she could be dropped and get hurt. It reminded me of the fact that God is carrying us, but the difference is where I could have dropped Grandma, God can’t and won’t drop us. It’s truly a comforting and reassuring feeling! It is like it says in Isaiah 46:4 – “I will be your God throughout all your lifetime – until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.”

Sometimes we feel like God is not carrying us when stress builds in our life and careers. We just have to remember that he IS there and like the footprints in the sand, He has us covered!

Just a thought . . .
